Middle School Sending Zones (2009-2010 school year)

Joplin middle school students attend one of three middle schools based upon which elementary attendance zone they reside in. As a result of the passage of the 2007 Joplin School Bond Issue, middle school sending zone changes went into effect beginning with the 2009-2010 school year. (Please also note that as of the 2009-2010 school year, in-district transfer permits are no longer allowed at the middle school level.)

Beginning with the 2009-2010 school year, the sending zones are as follows.

• Elementary school attendance zones that feed into the new Joplin East Middle School:
  • Duenweg | Duquesne | Eastmorland | Kelsey Norman | McKinley
    
  • The new Joplin East Middle School is located on 20th Street, about one-half mile east of Duquesne Road.
    
    
• Elementary school attendance zones that feed into the renovated/expanded Joplin North Middle School:
  • Columbia | Emerson | Jefferson | Royal Heights | West Central
    
  • Due to construction upgrades to original renovation plans, North Middle School students will attend classes at the former South Middle School building (310 W. 22nd Street) for the 2009-2010 school year. The North Middle School renovation/expansion project is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2010.
    
    
• Elementary school attendance zones that feed into the new Joplin South Middle School (located on 50th Street):
  • Cecil Floyd | Irving | Stapleton
    
  • The new Joplin South Middle School is located on 50th Street, next to Calvary Baptist Church.
