After-School Programs
Listed below are some local after-school programs available to students.
Joplin Family Y "School Plus" After-School Program
This state-licensed program provides a nutritious snack, organized indoor/outdoor activities, and homework assistance while incorporating the CORE Values of the Y: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
For the 2009-2010 school year, School Plus will be offered on-site at every Joplin elementary school except Duenweg Elementary. Duenweg students who participate in School Plus will be transported by bus to Duquesne Elementary when school dismisses.
All directors and staff are CPR/First-Aid certified and trained through the YMCA of the USA childcare standards. A fee is required for the program, and financial assistance is available based on availability and need. For more information about School Plus, please contact:

Boys and Girls Club of Joplin
The Boys and Girls Club provides an after-school program for children 5-18 years old. Trained staff members help children develop their academic and social skills in a fun and diverse environment. Activities are designed for various age groups and skill levels to enhance growth and to encourage learning.
The program is available to all area residents, and after-school transportation to the Boys and Girls Club is provided from several Joplin schools. A small fee is required for the program. For more information about the Boys and Girls Club of Joplin, please contact:
